METHODOLOGY 5th & 6th PRIMARY

This year we have planned to divide the course into two sections. First we are going to use the materials provided CLASS BOOK : ROOFTOPS 5 or 6, twice a week. The second section or lesson on Thursdays or Fridays will be different depending on the level:

 WEEKLY CALENDAR: 3 LESSONS PER WEEK.

 5A: Monday and Tuesday CLASS BOOK.
      Wednesday WORKSHOP

 5B: Wednesday and Thursday CLASS BOOK
      Friday WORKSHOP

 6A: Monday and Wednesday CLASS BOOK
      Thursday WORKSHOP

 6B & 6C: Monday and Tuesday CLASS BOOK
               Thursday WORKSHOP
WORKSHOPS:1 LESSON PER WEEK.

STUDENTS from 5th level: will work with Grammar. That includes the following contents:

  • Tell the TIME
  • Verb TO BE
  • MODAL VERBS
  • PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE TENSES
  • AFFIRMATIVE, NEGATIVE AND QUESTIONS
  • PREPOSITIONS
  • USE OF THE ADJECTIVE. COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE

STUDENTS from 6th level: will work with Speaking Workshops.

  • PRESENTATIONS, PERSONAL INFORMATION
  • LIKES/DISLIKES
  • ASKING FOR INFORMATION: TIME, PERSONAL INFORMATION
  • READING TEXTS ALOUD
  • WORKING WITH FILMS


Why? Because the experience says that our students in the 5th course are studying the same contents in Spanish and Valencian, so we are doing the transversal work in English too. In the 6th level the time is shorter because they have some other end-of-year work and probably a trip, and in this case the third term is always chaotic for them.

Hello boys and girls, Aquí os dejo las respuestas de las  PROPUESTAS del día 8 de Abril . 1- Era hacer en la libreta la portada y el vocabulario UNIT 5 "At the Market" (con dibujos), igual que hacemos en clase. El vocabulario son 10 palabras sobre FOOD. Escuchad y repetid la pronunciación con el vídeo que os envió MAX. 1.1.- FICHAS DE REFUERZO (os dejo ahora también hasta el tema 6 y cada vez que acabéis un tema podéis ir haciendo). Incluye las EXTENSION activities, también las podéis hacer, yo os iré indicando las páginas. Challenge 2 #twinMOOC

How important is to reflect on our teaching practice? What do I want to change about it? Do I care about my students' interests? Can I use ICT resources at school? This week I took some time to reflect on all this questions which I never did. Sharing my opinion about my job and the teaching practice is important for me. And the idea of following other people with the same interests makes me think that I'm not alone.
